Tempe Public Market Cafe reopens with new look, new menu, new service

By Jess Harter Monday, June 10, 2019

Tempe Public Market Cafe, which closed in early May for several weeks of remodeling, reopens today on the northeast corner of Rural and Warner in south Tempe.

Physical changes to the 17-month-old restaurant include long high-top tables that have replaced several booths, a new lounge area, new graffiti murals, new menu boards, a new pastry case, and an expanded retail area.

TPMC’s service remains order-at-the-counter for breakfast and lunch, but there now are servers to take your order at your table during dinner and weekend brunch.

The menu revamp is not too extensive. Gone are a few items like the green chile breakfast burro, the grilled ham and cheese sandwich, and the Southwestern pasta.

New items include Noble French toast (pictured, $11), a falafel sandwich ($11), udon noodles ($15), and beef lasagna ($16). See the new menu here.

Owners Aaron and David Chamberlain have split up their restaurant group, with Aaron taking over the Phoenix Public Market Cafe and Taco Chelo in Phoenix and his brother getting TPMC and neighboring Ghost Ranch.

TPMC’s hours stay the same: 7 a.m.-10 p.m. daily.
