Gilbert-based Salad and Go replaces 4 of its 8 ‘core’ salads with ex-seasonals

Salad and Go, a Gilbert-based drive-through chain launched as a healthy alternative to fast food, is making a major menu change this week.

Since its debut six years ago, Salad and Go’s menu has featured eight ‘‘core’’ 48-ounce gourmet salads and two seasonal salads, all 10 also available as wraps.

Starting Wednesday, June 12, a new every-day menu will feature the stores’ four bestsellers –  Cobb, Greek, Caesar, and BBQ Ranch (pictured) – and its four most popular seasonals – Buffalo Chicken Salad, Jalapeño Ranch, Antipasto, and Bruschetta Caprese.

There will be one summer seasonal, a Backyard BBQ Chicken Salad.

The four salads being dropped – Mixed Greens & Apple, Santa Fe, Southwest Caesar, and Roasted Sweet Potato and Strawberry – will remain available only while the current supply of ingredients lasts.

Roushaun Cristofellis and her husband, Tony, launched Salad and Go on the southeast corner of Gilbert and Guadalupe in 2013 after finding no convenient alternatives to fast food in her Gilbert neighborhood.

The popular chain has grown to 14 locations Valleywide with several more in development.

Last year, Salad and Go introduced a Lower Price Initiative that reduced the price of salads with tofu or chicken from $7.18 to just $5.74.
