Knuckle Sandwiches in Mesa offers house-cooked meats & local breads

Knuckle Sandwiches, an independent sandwich shop focused on locally made ingredients, has opened on the southwest corner of Higley and Brown on northeast Mesa.

It takes over a former Schlotzsky’s that closed at the start of this year.

The family-owned shop roasts and braises its own turkey, beef, chicken, and steak, meaning the meats don’t have all the sodium and nitrates found in typically processed deli meats.

Knuckle Sandwiches also uses locally baked breads.

Sandwiches come in three sizes: jab (small, $6), hook (medium, $7.50), and knockout (large, $9).

There also are breakfast sandwiches, paninis, wraps, and salads.

Knuckle Sandwiches is open 8 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday-Wednesday, 8 a.m.-9 p.m. Thursday-Saturday, and 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday.
