Fast-casual Mexican concept Burros & Bowls opens in downtown Mesa

Burros & Bowls, a fast-casual Mexican eatery, has opened on Country Club just north of Main in downtown Mesa.

It takes over the longtime Taco Bell building that recently has housed a series of short-lived restaurants, including 5 Star BBQ, SuperBurrito, La Palapa, and Sodalicious.

Burros & Bowls is a sibling of a San Diego restaurant called Burros & Fries and offers mostly the same large menu.

Featured are more than 20 burritos (most $6.49-$8.49) and eight kinds of loaded fries (most $6.49-$8.49), as well as tacos, enchiladas, quesadillas, and nachos.
