Spirit House, a tasting room and craft cocktail bar from SanTan Brewing & Distributing, opens today behind the brewpub on the southwest corner of San Marcos and Commonwealth in downtown Chandler.
It takes over the former Simply Unique Gelato shop, which closed in 2010. The then-3-year-old brewpub took over the space at the back of its building and used it for storage and, eventually, its first canning line.
In 2013, SanTan opened a large production brewery near Arizona and Warner and, in addition to brewing and canning, began distilling and aging spirits there in 2015.
Its first spirits – Sacred Stave American Single Malt Whiskey, SanTan Vodka, and Kaffir Lime Vodka – debuted in May 2018.
Besides selling cocktails made with SanTan spirits, Spirit House offers a menu of charcuterie, bruschetta, salads, and open-faced sandwiches. (See menus.)
Spirit House is open 4-11 p.m. Wednesday-Thursday, 4 p.m.-1 a.m. Friday-Saturday, and noon-8 p.m. Sunday. Closed Monday and Tuesday.
