Phoenix restaurateur extraordinaire Sam Fox has sold his Fox Restaurant Concepts to The Cheesecake Factory.
The price? A cool $308 million in cash.
Fox will continue to head the group, which will operate as a ‘‘wholly-owned subsidiary,’’ according to a press release.
Fox opened his first FRC restaurant, Wildflower, in Tucson in 1998. His group now has 45 restaurants nationwide representing 11 concepts:
- Blanco Tacos & Tequila
- North Italia
- Culinary Dropout
- Zinburger
- The Arrogant Butcher
- Olive & Ivy
- The Green House
- The Henry
- Flower Child
- Dough Bird
- Wildflower
Fox sold his most popular concept, Sauce Pizza & Wine, to a group headed by Scott Kilpatrick, one of the founders of Ra Sushi, in 2015.
