Detroit Coney Grill, a 6-year-old hot dog and burger shop in Tempe, is opening a location in north Scottsdale.
It’s taking over the former Killer Burger space on the southeast corner of Hayden and Indian Bend. Killer Burger, an Oregon-based burger chain, closed its only Arizona location in May.
Detroit Coney Grill offers a number of Motor City favorites, including its namesake Detroit-style coneys, Better Made chips, Faygo soda, and Sanders Bumpy Cakes.
Detroit Coney Grill launched in Tempe in 2013 and added a downtown Phoenix location in 2015.
A third location opened at Superstition Springs Mall in east Mesa in 2017 but closed after a year.
No opening date for the Scottsdale location has been announced.
