The Melting Pot in Scottsdale to close Sept. 30 after 22 years

By Jess Harter Monday, August 19, 2019

The Melting Pot has announced it will close its 22-year-old Scottsdale fondue restaurant on the northwest corner of Hayden and Via de Ventura on Monday, Sept. 30.

‘‘This closure is strictly a carefully planned and weighed business decision,’’ the restaurant posted on Facebook. ‘‘Despite our best efforts, we were unable to secure a mutually beneficial lease extension with the current landlord of our Scottsdale location.’’

The Florida-based chain has three franchises in the Valley; the others are in Ahwatukee and Glendale. The staff at the Scottsdale location are being offered jobs at the restaurants.

The Ahwatukee location is being expanded by 50 seats, while Glendale is getting a larger bar and a new patio.
