Aug. 24: Java for Jordan fundraiser at The Buzzed Goat in Ahwatukee

By Jess Harter Thursday, August 22, 2019

Ahwatukee coffeehouse The Buzzed Goat will host ‘‘Jave for Jordan,’’ a fundraiser for a local girl battling bone cancer, from 3-5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 24.

Thirteen-year-old Jordan Pearson was diagnosed with osteosarcoma, which tends to occur in children and young adults, last year. The cancer usually is found at the end of long bones, often around the knee.

Working with the local non-profit Armer Foundation, The Buzzed Goat is selling “We Are Strong” coffee cups with 100% of sales donated to the foundation. It’s also selling tickets for a 50/50 raffle; the winner will be drawn Saturday.

Food purveyors Eb’s Delites and The Blissful Bite will be selling cookies and other treats to help raise money. Other donations are being made by Basima Sweet Treats, Corbin’s Cakes, and Lavish Loaf Home Bakery.

If you’re in the area, please consider stopping by to support this worthy cause. If you can’t attend Saturday, you can buy a cup or raffle ticket anytime this week.
