For the second time in as many summers, Cotton & Copper has temporarily closed due to air conditioning issues.
Last summer, the acclaimed south Tempe restaurant and bar closed shortly after its July 31 opening. At that time, it replaced its air conditioning unit.
Unfortunately, that unit also has proven insufficient to cool the interior, where temperatures have hovered around 85 degrees the past two weeks.
‘‘Our doors will remain closed this week until we can keep our place cool enough for you,’’ owner Sean Traynor posted on Cotton & Copper’s Facebook page.
No timetable has been set for installing a larger AC unit, which requires hiring an architect and getting permits from the city.
‘‘Please stay tuned, we’ll post an update as soon as things are ready,’’ Traynor wrote.
