Gilbert’s newest hangout, Peacock Wine Bar, opens Saturday

By Jess Harter Friday, August 23, 2019

Peacock Wine Bar, Gilbert’s newest nightlife venue, opens at noon Saturday, Aug. 24, and – shocker! – it’s not downtown or at SanTan Village.

Instead, Tracy Schoenley and fiancé Richard Wallace are making their first foray into the food and beverage industry on the southeast corner of Gilbert and Baseline, where they’ve taken over a former fidget spinner store.

Grand-opening festivities will include free wine tastings at 1 and 5 p.m. and a free beer tasting at 3 p.m.

Peacock Wine Bar offers 20 wines by the glass and about 50 by the bottle – as well as four different wine flights – and 10 craft beers.

Food is limited to small bites like meat and cheese boards, bruschetta, salads, hummus, and flights of artisanal chocolates. Eventually, Schoenley and Wallace hope to add sandwiches.

Peacock Wine Bar will be open 3-9 p.m. Tuesday-Thursday, 3-11 p.m. Friday, noon-11 p.m. Saturday, and noon- 9 p.m. Sunday.

Happy hour is 3-6 p.m. daily and 9–11 p.m. Friday and Saturdays.
