El Taco Santo, a popular food truck that regularly sets up on the southeast corner of 40th Street and Chandler in Ahwatukee, has found a bricks-and-mortar home there.
Owners Cesar Martinez and Adrian Felix are moving into the strip-mall space formerly occupied by the Chakra 4 Herb Co. tea house.
El Taco Santo serves Sonoran-style grilled tacos and quesadillas.
The food truck often operates from the parking lot of the Firestone tire store at 40th and Chandler. The restaurant will be located in the Trader Joe’s-Safeway plaza behind it.
Martinez says the restaurant is expected to open in September. The food truck will continue to make stops around the East Valley.
