Now open: Asian steamed bun sandwich shop Deez Buns in north Tempe

By Jess Harter Tuesday, September 3, 2019

Deez Buns, a restaurant offering Asian-inspired sandwiches in steamed buns, has opened on the northeast corner of Priest and Washington in north Tempe.

The concept is a partnership between the owners of Korean restaurant Drunken Tiger in Mesa and Filipino pop-up Good Fortune Kitchen.

The soft-opening menu features seven burger-like sandwiches:

  • BTS (bulgogi , tomato, and slaw)
  • Longsilog (cured Filipino sausage)
  • Pho (a sandwich take on the Vietnamese noodle soup, pictured on right))
  • PBLT (pork belly, lettuce, and tomato)
  • KFC (Korean fried chicken)
  • Satay (Indonesian BBQ skewers, pictured on left)

All are $5.

Deez Buns is open 10:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday. Hours, and the menu, may be expanded this fall.
