Curry & Scoop owners open new concept, Tikka Bistro, today in Tempe

Tikka Bistro, a new Indian restaurant from the owners of 2-year-old Curry & Scoop, opens today on the northwest corner of Dorsey and Apache in Tempe.

It takes over former Middle Eastern restaurant and hookah bar Tasty Kabob, which closed in June after 13 years.

The menu offers what’s described as ‘‘seasonal classical dishes from select locations across India with contemporary expression.’’ They include tikka masala, mango malai curry, chicken biryani, and tandoor dishes.

Unlike its south Tempe sibling, Tikka Bistro has a full bar.

Tikka Bistro is celebrating its opening with a Grand Lunch Buffet today through Sunday.

Tikka Bistro is open 11 a.m.-3 p.m. and 5-9:30 p.m. Monday, closed Tuesday, 11 a.m.-3 p.m. and 5-9:30 p.m. Wednesday-Thursday, 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Friday-Saturday, and 11 a.m.-9:30 p.m. Sunday.
