Scottsdale’s Goldwater Brewing to launch taproom in northeast Mesa

Good news for Hop Chowda fans: Goldwater Brewing is coming to northeast Mesa.

The 4-year-old Scottsdale brewery, home of popular Hop Chowda NEIPA and Machine Gun Teddy brown ale, is opening a 2,200-square-foot taproom in the new Longbow Marketplace on the southwest corner of the 202 and Recker.

‘‘We wanted to bring a Goldwater Brewing tap room to our hometown of east Mesa,’’ co-owner Dillon McClelland says. ‘‘My siblings and I all grew up there and it’s a wide-open market for the craft beer scene.’’

The Longbow Marketplace, which will span from Recker to Greenfield, ‘‘is only marketplace along the 202 Red Mountain Freeway from Mesa Riverview all the way to San Tan Village,’’ McClelland says.

‘‘ It seemed like a no-brainer for us to bring our beer to the great people of east Mesa.’’

The 30-tap taproom won’t have a kitchen, but will share an 800-square-foot patio with MOD Pizza.

In addition, Longbow also is home to an In-N-Out Burger, Rumbi Island Grill, and Crumbl Cookies.

If construction goes smoothly look for Goldwater to open in November.
