Tempe Italian restaurant Quartiere to close Oct. 4 after less than 2 years

By Jess Harter Tuesday, October 1, 2019

Quartiere, a neighborhood Italian restaurant that opened on Mill Avenue halfway between Broadway and Southern in November 2017, will close its doors at 11 p.m. Friday, Oct. 4.

According to a notice posted on the restaurant’s website: ‘‘We have wrestled with the decision and though it saddens us, we know it is the best decision for our family and companies as a whole.’’

Erick Geryol – the owner of Boulders on Broadway and Spokes on Southern in Tempe and Boulders on Southern in Mesa – opened Quartiere after former occupant Riazzi’s Italian Garden closed after 72 years.

‘‘We have sold our property at 2700 S. Mill Avenue, but who we are will live on at our other concepts,’’ the website notice says.
