Mama Thai Kitchen, a restaurant offering more than 70 Thai dishes, has opened on the northeast corner of Alma School and Chandler Heights in south Chandler.
It takes over the stand-alone building formerly occupied by Silk Thai, which closed in August.
Eighteen lunch specials ($8.95-$10.95) ranging from stir-fry to noodle dishes to curries are available from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. weekdays.
House specialties on the seven-page dinner menu include:
- Ped Gaeng Daeng: Roasted duck topped in red curry, coconut milk, tomatoes, pineapple, bell peppers, and basil leaves ($18);
- Thai Jerky Beef: Deep-fried marinated beef served with papaya salad and sticky rice ($16 );
- Crying Tiger: Grilled rib eye steak seasoned with sauce and served with cucumber slices, tomatoes and dipping chili sauce ($22);
- Pumpkin Curry with Shrimp: Red curry paste with coconut milk, pumpkin, green beans, bell peppers, and basil leaves ($13);
- Ginger Salmon: Grilled Salmon with ginger mushrooms, onions, bell peppers, scallions, and flavored sauce ($16.95).

Hours are 11 a.m.-3 p.m. and 5-9 p.m. Monday-Friday and noon-4 p.m. and 5-9 p.m. Saturday-Sunday.
