Newly opened Sunbar in downtown Tempe launches organic kitchen

Sunbar – a nightclub, patio garden, and live-music venue – opened a few weeks ago for music shows in downtown Tempe. Now its organic kitchen is up and running.

Sunbar took over the two-story building, on the north side of the street of Fifth Street, just west of Mill, that formerly housed Trails on the ground floor and offices on the upper floor.

The concept feature multiple bars, a taproom with 45 beers on draft, a small convenience store, and a huge patio.

The organic grill offers a menu of Arizona grass-fed burgers ($14), Mary’s Organic chicken sandwiches ($15), and Niman Ranch steak sandwiches ($14), as well as rice and noodle bowls ($10-$13).

Vegan options include a veggie burger ($14), a Philly ‘‘steak’’ sandwich ($15), hemp tamales ($11), and more.

Sunbar is the fourth downtown Tempe nightspot from the group that also owns Shady Park, CASA, and Charlie Trumbull’s.
