Since launching in 2015, Wren House Brewing has established itself as one of Arizona’s top craft breweries. Now, it’s expanding its operation.
The brewery, which is located at 24th Street and Oak (map) in Phoenix, is building a lager and barrel facility about a mile away near 18th Street and McDowell.
Wren House co-founder Drew Pool says the new space will have 120 barrels, five lager fermenters, and maybe some office space.
‘‘We’re in plan approval right now,’’ he says. ‘‘We should start construction in November or December with it up and running in March.’’
Although the new facility is too close for another tap room, Pool says the brewery’s license allows some carryout-only options in the future.
Wren House has an affinity for lagers. It’s Valley Beer won the silver medal won the silver medal in the American-style lager or pilsener category at the prestigious Great American Beer Festival in Denver earlier this month.
And Wren House will host A Lager Celebration – featuring lagers from all over the country in a small, intimate setting – on Saturday, Nov. 9. A few tickets, which are $60, still are available.
