Whole Foods Market finally opens its much-anticipated 40,000-square-foot store on the northwest corner of Ash and University in downtown Tempe at 9 a.m. Wednesday, Nov 5.

The celebration will include free refreshments, food bites, and music before the store opens. The first 300 customers will receive a reusable shopping bag and a gift card ranging from $5 and $100.

Restaurant & bar: The store will feature a two-story restaurant and bar called On Ash, which will serve ‘‘pub-style food, including options for vegan and other special diets,’’ according to a media release.

The bar will have 24 beers on tap and more than 20 wines by the glass.

Other food & drink: A juice bar called Nékter will offer açai bowls, smoothies, fresh and cold-pressed juices, and drip coffee and lattes.

Like other Whole Foods Markets, there will be hot and cold prepared food bars and stations for personal pizzas, tacos, sushi, and hot-pressed sandwiches.
