One of the most anticipated openings of 2019 is Jolibee, known as ‘‘the McDonald’s of the Philippines,’’ which is building its first Arizona restaurant on the northwest corner of Gilbert and Germann in Chandler.
When MXSW first broke the news about Jollibee, the local franchisee said the restaurant likely would open in December. Now we have an ‘‘unofficial official’’ date: Saturday, Dec. 28.
Jollibee is best-known for its signature fried chicken called Chickenjoy, which is accompanied by a delicious onion-celery gravy.
Typically at new openings, the first 25 people in line get free Chickenjoy for a year.
