Las Palmas Cantina, scheduled to close last summer and then in October before getting last-minute reprieves, finally will close Dec. 31.
The bigger news: Its replacement will not be the previously announced Chandler Yacht Club.
Owner Julian Wright says the downtown Chandler restaurant and bar will hold a Drink The Bar Dry party on New Year’s Eve.
The Mexican beach-themed venue also will be selling some of the furniture and light fixtures.
As for what will replace Las Palmas, Wright plans to make the announcement in January.
