Tee Pee Tap Room, a Mexican restaurant behind Chase Field in downtown Phoenix, has abruptly closed its doors after 21 years.
According to a notice posted on the door:
‘‘Tee Pee Tap Room will be permanently closing on Thursday, Dec. 19. We would like to thank all of you for your support and loyalty.’’
The tap room was a spin-off of Tee Pee Mexican Food, a 61-year-old restaurant that remains open in Arcadia, although the two have operated as separate entities for the past decade.
The restaurant’s owners reportedly plan to open a sports bar in 2020.
