Struggling PDQ closes Tempe, Paradise Valley locations

PDQ, a Florida-based fast-food chain specializing in chicken tenders and chicken nuggets, has closed its two Valley locations.

The closures come in the wake of increased competition from chains like Popeye’s and McDonald’s that have turned their focus to chicken sandwiches.

PDQ recently also closed all its restaurants in Texas and Oklahoma, as well as numerous locations in several other states.

The restaurant made its Arizona debut in 2017 near Paradise Valley Mall on Cactus just west of Tatum.

It added a second location last January on the southwest corner of Warner and Priest in south Tempe.

PDQ stands for ‘‘people dedicated to quality.’’
