Taste of Peru, a restaurant specializing in (not surprisingly) Peruvian cuisine, has opened in the Safeway shopping center on the southwest corner of Alma School and Guadalupe in southwest Mesa.
It takes over the space formerly home to the short-lived El Autentico, which offered a variety of Mexican, Colombian, and Peruvian dishes.
Taste of Peru’s menu features Peruvian rotisserie chicken, chaufa (fried rice) dishes, saltado (stir-fry) dishes, and ceviches.
(Pictured above: Jalea Limena, a Peruvian-style seafood platter with white fish, calamari, shrimp, mussels, fried yucca, salsa criolla, and rocoto pepper aioli.)
Taste of Peru is open for lunch and dinner daily.
