Extreme Pizza, a California-based chain specializing in unusual pizza toppings, makes its Arizona debut today on the northeast corner of Higley and Southern in east Mesa.
The 26 speciality pizzas, which range from 8 to 18 inches, include:
- Spice Route: Chicken marinated in a spicy Tandoori sauce, green pepper, red onion, cilantro, and mozzarella;
- Hanoi Fever: Shredded pork marinated in a spicy hoisin-style mozzarella, peanuts, green onions, jalapeños, carrots, and fresh cilantro;
- Kickin’ Chicken: Chicken marinated in a spicy ginger Thai sauce, peanuts, green onions, Swiss, fontina, cilantro, mozzarella, peanut sauce, and shredded carrots;
- Baja 100: Grilled chicken, black beans and salsa, black olives, red onions, tomatoes, jalapeños, cilantro, and cheddar;
- Ghost Wave: Italian sausage, green peppers, creamy mascarpone cheese, mozzarella, ghost pepper cheese, and honey;
- Peace in the Middle East: Hummus, tomatoes, Kalamata olives, caramelized onions, feta, fresh basil, pepperoncini, and mozzarella.
Of course, more traditional pizzas, including vegan and gluten-free options, are available. Also on the menu: Calzones, subs, and wings.
Eight beers are on tap with more in bottles. Wines will be added to the menu soon.
Extreme Pizza is open for lunch and dinner daily.
