Closed: Tempe Public Market Cafe in south Tempe

Tempe Public Market Cafe, a casual neighborhood hangout offering breakfast, lunch, and dinner, has closed after two years.

According to its social media post:

‘‘This was not an easy decision and we cannot express our gratitude for every person that has supported us on our journey. We have seen great success, however, this was the next leg of our journey.’’

The restaurant was the third from chef Aaron Chamberlain and his brother, Dave, who launched St. Francis in Phoenix in 2009 and the Phoenix Public Market Cafe in 2013.

They later launched host Ghost Ranch next to TPMC and Taco Chelo in Phoenix.

TPMC closed for several weeks in May 2019 to revamp the concept, including a new menu and decor.

At the same time, the Chamberlains split up their restaurant group, with Aaron taking over the PPMC and Taco Chelo and his brother getting TPMC and Ghost Ranch.

There’s at least one report that Postino is taking over TPMC’s space.
