By Jess Harter Friday, February 7, 2020

La Patrona Mexican Cuisine, a 9-month-old family-run restaurant east of downtown Mesa, was destroyed in a massive fire overnight.

The restaurant was on the north side of Main Street, about halfway between Stapley and Gilbert, in a freestanding building that formerly was Casa Ramos.

According to various media reports, the building was unoccupied at the time and is a total loss.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
