It’s taken seven years and 20 locations, but Salad and Go finally is coming to Tempe.
The Gilbert-born chain of fast-food salad eateries is taking over the former Applebee’s building on the southeast corner of Rural and Broadway.
Besides its standard small-footprint shop – Salad and Go only serves drive-through and walk-up customers – the renovated building will have the concept’s first offices, meeting space, and R&D kitchen.
Former teacher Roushaun Cristofellis and her husband, Tony, launched the concept in 2013 after they were unable to find healthy fast-food options in their Gilbert neighborhood.
Today there are 15 locations operating in the Valley and five under construction. The Tempe location is expected to open this summer.
