Gem City Sours & Ciders Festival in downtown Mesa rescheduled to Oct. 24

Press release:

The Gem City Sours & Ciders Festival scheduled to take place on Saturday, March 21, in downtown Mesa has been rescheduled. The event that was set to bring local sour beers together for sampling side by side with regional craft ciders will now be held on Saturday, Oct. 24. Organizers at Cider Corps say the move is in response to COVID-19 concerns and CDC health and safety recommendations about large gatherings.

“This event is all about community,” says Cider Corps co-owner Jason Duren. “It was inspired by the collaboration and sharing of knowledge that our breweries and cideries have found with these drinks in particular.”

“With such a large attendance expected, we could not ignore recommendations about public gatherings and do not want to put our community at risk,” he continues. “We look forward to raising our glasses together in the Fall under happier circumstances.”

Duren says that the event will merge with the Southwest Cider Fest that Cider Corps has held in the fall for the past two years. The 11 breweries and nine cideries scheduled for the festival have committed to the new October date.

All purchased tickets will automatically be valid for the new Oct. 24 date and refund requests will be honored. Find details about the festival and the new date at soursandciders.eventbrite.com.
