After giving out more than 500 free kids lunches last week, Sal’s Gilbert Pizza is continuing the giveaways until schools resume.
From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays, kids get a choice of three free to-go meals:
- Slice of cheese pizza and a drink;
- Slice of pepperoni pizza and a drink;
- Penne and meatballs with marinara.
Owners Sal and Grace Cuffaro launched the free lunches because they were concerned about the many children who depend on schools for a free lunch.
‘‘To see some of the joy in their faces has been amazing,’’ the pizzeria posted on social media, adding, ‘‘Together we will persevere and get through this together as a community.’’
