The Servd mobile app, featured several weeks ago on MXSW, is being offered to restaurant owners for free during this period of coronavirus restrictions.
Developers Frank Estadt, owner of Waldo’s BBQ & Catering, and Aaron Zeper say there is no cost to sign up, set up or use the app, and no hardware or anything else to buy.
‘‘I think this is a huge benefit for anyone not doing online ordering now or whose only option is currently a third-party service like DoorDash or GrubHub charging outlandish commissions, even for pickup,’’ Estadt says.
After the current restaurant restrictions are lifted, the app still has several useful features such as no-contact ordering and paying by diners.
