Good morning! By now you’ve surely heard Arizona restaurants are being allowed to reopen for dine-in service starting Monday. A lot of MXSW readers have asked what new procedures, if any, will be in place. At this point I only can share the guidance offered by the state (see a larger, easier-to-read version).
I expect some restaurants to wait several days or weeks to reopen, and many people still will refuse to dine out due to health concerns. One of the biggest unresolved issues is legal liability: Can restaurants be sued by diners who might contract Covid-19 at their establishments?
There’s a lot for restaurants and diners to figure out in the next six days and beyond.
