Rosati’s Pizza‘s original Arizona location on the northwest corner of McClintock and Warner in south Tempe has reopened under new ownership. The takeout-only store had closed in December after 33 years in business.
The family-run pizzeria chain, which began in Chicago in 1927, has locations in 15 states, including 11 in the Valley.
Rosati’s has been roiled for years by family disputes, culminating in a 2006 lawsuit pitting several family members against others over trademarks, franchising, and other issues.
The south Tempe location was launched by Rick and Mike Rosati and Scott Selke, who also owned a couple other Valley locations that closed last year.
One of those, in Ahwatukee, also reopened recently under new ownership.
