Good news for East Valley taco lovers: Mr Mesquite Taqueria, a local fast-casual chain specializing in Mexican street food, is coming to Gilbert and Mesa.
Brothers Naser and Ahmad Alatrash debuted Mr. Mesquite — just a small kitchen with a walk-up counter — in Old Town Scottsdale in 2016, and since have added locations in downtown Tempe, east Phoenix, north Scottsdale, and, most recently, Surprise.
New East Valley locations are in the works for:
- The southeast corner of Gilbert and Williams Field in Gilbert;
- The southwest corner of Crismon and Southern in east Mesa.
No opening dates have been announced, but both are expected to launch before the end of this year.
Mr. Mesquite’s menu offers mesquite-grilled carne asada or chicken in tacos, burritos, quesadillas, and bowls.
