In a trend eerily reminiscent of the week preceding Arizona’s stay-at-home order in March, a growing number of Valley restaurants are choosing to temporarily close as covid-19 cases surge in Arizona.
Jolie’s Place in Chandler closed last Monday with plans to reopen today. On Saturday, however, the restaurant announced on social media its voluntary closure would continue indefinitely:
In west Chandler, Good Time Charli’s announced on Friday it had closed its dining room and would offer curbside takeout only. By Sunday, however, it had decided to completely close:
Arizona BBQ Company in Gilbert announced Sunday it was closing its dining room but would remain open for takeout.
In March, numerous Valley restaurants chose to close their doors before Gov. Doug Ducey eventually issued a stay-at-home order limiting all Arizona restaurants to just takeout and delivery.
