Back in January, MXSW reported Sleepy Whale owner Justin Evans was planning to open another East Valley beer bar and bottle shop at Epicenter at Agritopia in Gilbert. Now it reportedly has a name: Beer Barn.
To be honest, the moniker seems a little generic compared to its siblings. Besides The Sleepy Whale near downtown Chandler, Evans and his partners also operate The Wandering Tortoise and The Theodore in Phoenix.
Evans also is the guy behind The Golden Pineapple Craft Lounge, which launched in June in the former Quartiere in Tempe. The Golden Pineapple, which is a restaurant and bar, hasn’t had its official opening yet but is doing some takeout and delivery.
Beer Barn isn’t expected to open until 2021.
