Longtime south Scottsdale favorite Los Sombreros has opened its third Valley location across the street from Mesa Community College.
The Mexican restaurant takes over the strip-mall space that formerly was home to La Casa de Juana, which closed last fall, on the northeast corner of Dobson and Southern.
House specialties include green corn tamales, mole poblano, and tequila shrimp.
It’s the second new location in less than 10 months for the 25-year-old concept. Los Sombreros took over a building that formerly was part of SunUp Brewing in Phoenix in November.
Hours are 9 a.m.-7 p.m. Wednesday-Sunday. Closed Monday and Tuesday.
