Chef-driven Japanese restaurant Daruma launches in west Mesa

Daruma, a Japanese restaurant named for the legendary monk credited with founding the Zen tradition of Buddhism, has opened in west Mesa.

It’s one of several eateries in the Asian-centric strip mall on the northwest corner of Dobson and Southern.

The chef-driven menu offers sushi rolls, salads, noodle dishes (udon or soba), and a few teriyaki and tempura entrees.

Hours are 11:30 a.m.-8L30 p.m. Sunday-Thursday and 11:30 a.m.-9 p.m. Friday-Saturday.
