Roses by the Stairs Brewing, an environmentally focused brewery that takes its name from the lyrics of a Blink-182 song, is coming to central Phoenix.
It’s taking over the former Easley’s Fun Shop, which closed in 2018 after 72 years in business near the southwest corner of McDowell and Fifth Avenue.
The farmhouse-inspired brewery will specialize in sours and naturally fermented ales. There will be a taproom but no kitchen.
It already has signed up to donate 1% of its revenue to 1% for the Planet. Discarded wood pallets are being recycled as tables.
The brewery is the brainchild of Scottsdale engineer Jordan Ham. William Hampton is his head brewer.
Roses by the Stairs is expected to open in early 2021.
