Former NASCAR driver Michael Waltrip (pictured) is opening a brewery and taproom in Phoenix.
Waltrip launched Michael Waltrip Brewing in March. The company temporarily is based in Texas.
So far, it has three beers – Checkered Past (a coconut IPA), Blonde (a blonde ale), and Vamanos (a Mexican lager) – under its Two-Time brand.
(The Two-Time name, if you’re wondering, is a reference to Waltrip’s two victories in NASCAR’s prestigious Daytona 500.)
The brewery says the three beers are scheduled to be distributed in yet-to-be-determined states starting in September.
The brewery also says it will open a Two-Time Taproom, along with the company’s production brewery, in Phoenix by the end of this year.
The exact location has not been announced, but it reportedly will be in north Phoenix.
