Matty G’s, a popular family-friendly neighborhood grill, will open its fourth Valley location in southeast Gilbert.
It’s taking over the former Dean’s Hermanos Mexican Food, which closed at the end of July, on the southeast corner of Higley and Queen Creek.
Matt ‘‘Matty’’ Gordon and his wife, Doreen, launched Matty G’s in California before moving to Arizona.
They opened their first Valley location in northeast Mesa in 2018 and since have added others in Scottsdale and Phoenix.
Although Matty G’s doesn’t consider itself a sports bar, there’s a sporty vibe to the decor, in great part because Gordon’s father owned a sports memorabilia shop.
The menu is dominated by 20 specialty burgers, topped by the seven-patty Slumpbuster (pictured).
No opening date has been announced yet.
