A husband-and-wife catering team from San Francisco has opened Gabriella’s Contemporary American Cuisine on the east corner of Mountain View and Via Linda in Scottsdale.
Anthony and Anna Barr moved to Arizona last spring when the covid-19 pandemic decimated their 50-person catering business.
Gabriella’s serves what Anna Barr calls ‘‘upscale yet approachable cuisine,’’ including:
- Sweet corn and mushroom tamales with cumin crema and avocado salsa;
- Short rib grilled cheese sandwich with white cheddar and crispy onions on sourdough;
- Crispy chicken banh mi with pickled vegetables and roasted jalapenos;
- Sorrel chickpea cake with walnut pesto and organic red quinoa;
- Roasted half chicken with garlic au jus, smashed potatoes, and garden vegetables.
Gabriella’s hours are 10 a.m.-10 p.m. daily.
