Mediterranean restaurant & bar The Ivy in Chandler closes after 5 years

The Ivy, a 5-year-old Mediterranean restaurant and wine bar on the northeast corner of Dobson and Germann in Chandler, has closed.

‘‘Like any business, we have faced our fair share of challenges, yet we have always found a way to meet those challenges face to face with creativity and drive in order to persevere,’’ its announcement says. ‘‘Unfortunately the events that have transpired with the Covid pandemic have made it increasingly difficult to continue.’’

The Ivy opened in April 2015, taking over the short-lived Asian restaurant Chao.

Its sister restaurant, Cyprus Grill in Chandler, closed in 2017.
