Eegee’s, a Tucson-based fast-food concept with a cult-like following, apparently is coming to the East Valley.
No official announcement has been made, but the chain has submitted preliminary applications with Mesa for a location at the U.S. 60 and Crimson and with Gilbert for a location at Val Vista and Baseline.
Eegee’s menu features grinders, subs, hot dogs, fries, and salads, but the signature item is its frozen fruit drinks.
Ed Irving and Bob Greenberg launched Eegee’s in 1971. Now owned by 39 North Capital and Kitchen Fund, the chain has 24 locations in Tucson and one in Casa Grande.
