Illinois-based discount grocer Aldi announced its first Arizona stores will open Thursday, Nov. 5, in Chandler and Goodyear.
The Chandler store is on the northwest corner of Alma School and Queen Creek; the Goodyear one on the southeast corner of the Estrella Parkway and Roosevelt.
Two other Arizona stores – in Gilbert (Pecos and Market Street) and Peoria – also are scheduled to open by the end of the year.
Other East Valley locations in the works include Mesa, Queen Creek, Tempe, and a second store in Gilbert.
Unlike other grocery stores, Aldi focuses on private labels for about 90% of its products. It does not have in-store coffee shops or pharmacies.
