Tacos Tijuana, which started in 2016 as a family-run food truck in the West Valley, has opened its second East Valley bricks-and-mortar restaurant on the southeast corner of McQueen and Elliot in Gilbert.
It takes over a standalone building formerly home to The Good Egg.
The small taqueria chain now includes two semi-permanent food trucks and three restaurants, the latter group including one that opened in December 2018 on the southwest corner of Greenfield and U.S. 60 in southeast Mesa.
Tacos Tijuana offers two kinds of meat – carne asada or al pastor – from a vertical rotisserie along with house-made corn tortillas. Besides tacos, options include quesadillas, mulitas, and vampiros.
Hours are 10 a.m.-10 p.m. Monday-Saturday and 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Sunday.
