Acai Waffle, an eatery focused on so-called ”superfoods,’’ has taken over the former Doner Dudes Express space on the northeast corner of Mill and Fifth in downtown Tempe.
Customers choose a style – waffle, waffle bowl, waffle cone, or plastic bowl – and a ‘‘superblend’’ such as Makai acai, blue spirulina, matcha, or chia pudding. They then select from various toppings and extras.
Most offerings are vegan, gluten-free, and organic. Prices range from $8 for a small bowl to $12.50 for a waffle.
Acai Waffle is open 11 a.m.-7 p.m. daily.
