Barro’s Pizza debuts Angelo’s Ale as fundraiser for Alzheimer’s

By Jess Harter Wednesday, November 25, 2020

Barro’s Pizza and Four Peaks Brewing have collaborated on a new beer, Angelo’s Ale, to honor the pizza chain’s late patriarch.

Who was Angelo? Angelo Barro’s mother launched Barro’s Pizza in Chicago in 1961, and he brought the concept to Arizona in 1980. He passed away in 2015 after battling Alzheimer’s.

The beer: According to Four Peaks, the golden ale was brewed specifically to pair with the flavors found in the Barro’s secret family pizza recipe.

For a good cause: Proceeds from the beer, available on draft at all Barro’s locations in the East Valley, will be donated to the Desert Southwest Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association.
