It’s been nearly a year since Ile.gal Modern Cocktail Kitchen was expected to open in downtown Gilbert. Then came the covid-19 pandemic. Now the town’s first rooftop bar and restaurant finally has announced a grand opening date: Tuesday, Dec. 29.
The space: The 1,750-square-foot space is located on the top floor of the three-story building between Dierks Bentley’s Whiskey Row and Bergies Coffee Roast House. The ground floor already is occupied by Da’Bayou Creole Kitchen, formerly The Brass Tap.
The menu: Food and drinks both pay homage to the Sonoran Desert. Dishes will include pepita hummus, nopales fries, and acorn soup. Drinks will feature an assortment of agave spirits.
Who’s behind it? The concept is a joint project between Erika Rode, the owner of Bitters Bar & Food in Scottsdale, and Lynne King Smith, the founder of internet ticketing platform TicketForce.
